A little about me
I'm a left-handed Gemini, I love pretty much anything sparkly and I do tend to get very excited about pretty much anything. Barium Enema! WOOOOP! OK, maybe not that.
It really wasn't very fun or exciting and the phrase 'shitting bricks' comes to mind when describing the first 2 days after.
I'm a professional fixer of wonky hearts and an amateur badass unicorn wannabe.
I spend a lot of my weekends in muddy fields either as an OCR doer or as a race marshal flanked by The Husband and Beastie, my long-suffering spouse and gorgeously bonkers daughter.
My favourite things to eat are seafood, mashed potato with gravy and pistachio ice cream. I firmly believe that coffee with milk should be outlawed along with orange chocolate and any dish with kidneys in it.
I'm an aider and abettor of ridiculous ideas, utterer of the phrase 'it'll be fiiine!' and the last one left on the dance floor. I kinda cheated on a 5km a day for 30 days challenge by running the total 150km over a few days because smashing it out seemed way more fun than running every day.
I ended up doing an extra 2 miles at the end of a 62-mile ultramarathon because I managed to get myself (and a poor idiot who followed me) lost a mile from the end. If it involves glitter, a fancy dress outfit and the likely hood of hilarious mishaps, I'm all over it.
Despite the 'WOOOOPS!' and over-excitability, I'm scared quite a lot of the time; heights, failure, open water, letting people down, murderers lurking in my back garden, being unable to protect my loved ones, my little Beastie getting hurt, just to name a few. Sometimes I want to cry from fear so hard it makes my chest hurt, but, I'm slowly learning to tell myself to not give into it, to just breathe and that in order to gain control, I sometimes need to let go.
I believe in the powers of compassion, kindness, a squishy hug and honest positive conversation.
Big Love TP x
