Who am I? Often a question you ask yourself. Do we ever really truly know who we are? Up until Sept 2011, I didn't know who I was, I still don't but I know more about myself now than I did then. What changed that? My 1st obstacle race. It was the first ever Wolf Run and I was hooked, the fun, the camaraderie and of course becoming a kid again and getting muddy! Of course at that time if you'd told me that in the future I'd be competing in OCR & running in a UK OCR Championship twice and an OCR World Championship three times on the other side of the world I'd have said you're nuts! OCR has opened my life up to so much and I have made many good friends over the years I've been in the sport (yes it is a sport, albeit not an officially recognised one as yet). Still trying to find myself I've decided to break out of my comfort zone and challenge myself with Ironman Bolton 2018, something that is going to make me focus and something I can't train properly for. Outside of OCR I hold down a full-time job whilst acting as a carer for my wife who has long-term health issues. This brings its own challenges but the people I have met and continue to meet through sport help me to keep looking forward and strive to better myself and make my family proud. Who am I? I'm Mark I'm excited to see where the journey takes me. You don't live once, you live every day so may as well make use of the time you're here.
